Counting Mississippi

I have been away for the past few weeks, but now i am back! And for the next state I am going to talk about Mississippi.

Gulf Islands National Seashore

The gulf islands national seashore is a beautiful formation that extends from Mississippi to Florida, most of this formation is currently submerged under the water, but the barrier islands that are accessible have beautiful white sand beaches and dense maritime forests. Amongst these islands there are hiking trails, camping and picnicking areas available to the public.

Vicksburg National Military Park

For the ones that are interested in History and the civil war this is the perfect destination, on the vicksburg national park one of the most decisive battles of the civil war was fought, in celebration to this more than a thousand monuments and markers were made, also the war trenches have been reconstructed for the public.

Rock and Blues Museum

Next stop is my favourite destination in Mississippi, the Rock and Blues Museum, this museum covers the blues & rock scene from the 1920's to the 1970's, in the museum you can find many signed pictures from blues musicians from that time (something really rare to see).

Jackson

For our last stop in Mississippi, we are going to the city of Jackson.
Inside Jackson that are many things to see, but I would recommend visiting the museums for they are really amazing ones! There is the Old Capitol Museum, the Mississippi Art Museum, the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum and the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, also there is the Russell C Davis Planetarium.
If you're not that into museums, I would recommend stopping by anyways and just taking a walk around, for Jackson is a really nice city!
